Our mission at White Horse is simple. We put the planet and people at the forefront of all we do. From our sustainable roasting operation to our cafes, we cultivate good for people & the planet. Our customers can always count on getting an excellent cup of specialty coffee at home or when they visit one of our warm, welcoming and non-pretentious cafes. Even those who aren't specialty coffee gurus deserve good coffee, and we are here to facilitate that in a friendly and fun way.
Coffee for the Planet
You'll be hard pressed to find any other coffee roaster that cares about the health of the planet as much as we do. We only roast USDA organic, fair trade coffee. All of our coffee is roasted on all electric roasters with zero emissions. No natural gas here! And all our packaging is 100% compostable. Every. Single. Part. Zipper, valve, labels, bag...just drop it in your compost pile. We are committed to being fully transparent about our eco-impact. No greenwashing here!
How It Began
A love of horses and good coffee was how the White Horse brand was born. A life long equestrian and coffee lover, founder Jean Brillman and her husband Brian decided to bring the two together and in 2017 started a coffee & ice cream truck that finally brought good coffee to horse shows and events. The truck was such a hit that in 2018 they opened the flagship White Horse Coffee & Creamery location in Jenkintown, PA. As the cafe grew in popularity, so did Jean's passion for coffee and sustainability. It was from this passion that our eco-friendly, specialty coffee roasting operation emerged, filling a void within the coffee industry to offer coffee lovers a truly sustainable option from sourcing, to roasting & packaging.
Where We Are Now
Even though it was just a simple love of horses and coffee that started the ball rolling, The White Horse continues to grow and reach new heights, year after year. When we added our sustainable, organic roasting operation in 2021, our popularity skyrocketed. White Horse customers love to be able to get freshly roasted, organic coffee in a warm and friendly cafe, but also love having White Horse Coffee at home by purchasing beans through our website or at our retail locations. We continue to stay hard at work to bring our customers only the best and can't wait to see what other wonderful things the future holds!
